SMD Technical is constantly striving to be eco friendly within the eventing and corporate hospitality industry. SMD are currently leading the field in this regard with a large range of well utilised energy efficient products.

We have built several unique products that offer significant power saving options on functions. This results in smaller generators being utilised and a significant diesel saving as the power consumption load are significantly reduced by these products.

SMD Technical has also equipped themselves with various energy efficient products and lighting fixtures using LED lamp technology which is well utilised in the function and eventing market in Cape Town.

Together all these products, used individually or all together on a larger event, are resulting in smaller generators being utilised that use less diesel and are saving clients many Rands.

BATTERY PRODUCTS

All SMD’s battery products are green friendly and utilise power efficient LED technology
The units are charged during off peak times
The products are utilised at peak load times – thus reducing the load on the grid

PAR 16 DÉCOR WASHES

These lamps were built by SMD to save power when washing walls and draping
They utlise 2 x 50 watt lamps instead of using a 300 watt Par 56
This represents a 200 watt saving per fixture placement, which is significant
These lamps also reduce overall power required thus using less diesel if on generator

ENERGY SAVERS

The energy savers were built by SMD to save power when lighting gardens
These fixtures are available is green and blue and draw very little power.
They are the most effective power saving product we have built.
Most other companies will use Par 64’s lamps or floods that would draw much more power
